Maximizing battery life during the season
The Golf Pad Click uses an efficient smart chip, but you can extend the battery life further with these best practices during the golf season:
- Avoid unnecessary clicks: Every button press wakes the device and broadcasts a Bluetooth signal. Avoid clicking it repeatedly when outside of a round.
- Keep your phone nearby: If the phone is too far away or behind heavy obstacles (like the bottom of a heavy golf bag), the Click will consume more power trying to establish and maintain a stable connection.
Off-season storage (Crucial for winter months)
If you live in a region with cold winters and take a break from golf for several months, proper storage prevents permanent damage to your device:
- Remove the battery: This is the most important step. Lithium coin cells (CR2032) left inside devices for months of inactivity can slow-drain, freeze, or leak over time. Battery leakage causes irreversible corrosion on the Click's electronic board.
- Store in a dry, climate-controlled place: Keep your Golf Pad Click indoors at room temperature. Avoid leaving it in your golf bag inside an unheated garage, shed, or car trunk. Extreme cold or high humidity can degrade the internal battery contacts and weaken the plastic case.
