Samsung has stated it WILL NOT be upgrading the Galazy Watch 3 to OS3. Will Golf pad still support Tizen OS and for how long?

Where do I find golf pad classic in the Galaxy store for my watch? Does it exist? It doesn't come up in a search.

Hi Guys,

Golf Pad Classic would have to be installed on both phone and watch as it's a stand-alone app. Once you have that working, you can delete the Golf Pad app and stick to Classic! Down the road, if you decide to upgrade your watch, switch back to Golf Pad and you information will, as always, carry over there.

Thanks!!

@Ulrich.......I have exactly the same issue although support tell me it should work.

As a workaround I installed the golf pad app as well and although the watch app doesn't start automatically it does connect and work.

Ulrich, the only issue I had today with the app, etc., was that all the tags were unlinked, and the settings were set back to default. My watch hooked up as normal, as I don't recall needing to update it unless it did it automatically.

As an aside, I am going to upgrade my watch. The Shop Samsung App is running a terrific deal on trade-ins. They are giving me $150 for my Galaxy 3 plus an extra $40 (I think). With shipping, the new Galaxy 7 watch will be about $140, so I'm going that route.

After installing Golfpad classic and updating my galaxy Watch 3 to Golfpad Version 5.6.7 the App on the watch does not start but requests the Installation of Golf Pad on the Phone. Any idea to break this loop?

Thanks for asking! We will continue to support Tizen for as long as it’s feasible (there are no breaking changes by Samsung or Google requiring significant updates on our side). As a datapoint, we still support Pebble in maintenance mode, years after it’s been discontinued. - Cindy
