Golf Pad Premium offers several scoring formats. Here are details about each:

Net scoring
Net score is determined by subtracting the player's course handicap from the gross score. Golf Pad allows you to manually set the handicap for each player or let the app calculate an Ability Estimate based on your playing history. Users residing in the US or Mexico can pull their official handicap from the USGA® into the Golf Pad app. You can use gross or net scoring for each of the scoring modes below.

Stableford
The number of points awarded on each hold is determined based on comparison of the number of strokes taken to par. The player with the highest number of points wins. In this format your round can not be ruined with a single blow-up hole.

Modified Stableford
This mode is the same as Stableford except you customize your point preferences.

Match play
Match play is a scoring system where a player earns a point for each hole in which he or she has bested the opponent. Players start All Square (AS). The player with the most points at the end of the round wins.

Skins
A popular match format that can be played with any size group. It can also be played with gross or net (handicap adjusted) scores.

The player with the lowest score (untied) on a hole, wins a skin. If there is a tie, no skins are won on that hold. Unclaimed skins carry over and get added to the pot on the next hole. If multiple holes are tied in a row, the skins add up and a single hole can result in a big payoff!

The player with the most skins wins!

Nines
This is a format for groups of three players. Each hole has a total point value of nine points.

Players earn points as follows:
  • Best score = 5 points
  • Second best score = 3 points
  • Worst (highest) score = 1 point

In the case of two players tying for best score, the first and second points are split evenly between the two players.

When two players tie for high score, the second and third points are evenly split between the tied players.

If all three players tie for best score, each player gets 3 points.
