"Mark flag" consistently far away from where I'm standing

I've never really utilized the Mark Flag function before I played a round yesterday. In general, it never meant much to me, but I figured that if I really want to be tracking my putting (specifically my second-putt distances to the hole) I would need to start using it. So I started scanning the hole on my watch as I went to pick up the ball, and noticed something odd:

Regardless of when I marked it, the app would register its location as something like 20ft away from where I was standing. Sometimes I would mark it on the way to my ball, sometimes as I was putting out, but it wouldn't matter. And it did this regardless of whether I was using my phone or my (WearOS) watch to do it. It was most obvious when I would have like a one-foot putt: I would scan my putter with its TAG, putt, then mark the flag position without moving, and my watch would say "Last putt 36 ft" or something similar. Then I'd have to edit the hole, tap on the flag position, and move it to where it should be.

I would normally think "ah, this is just GPS acting up," but honestly it was so consistent that I'm not so sure. And the fact that I would putt, then scan the pin without moving, and it would be 20+ feet away from where I'm standing? The numbers on the screen hadn't changed, so you'd think that at the very least both the putt location and the pin would be off by the same amount, but no, it was always different, and by a big margin.

18 times I had to do this yesterday. Does anybody else have a similar story to this? I'm curious.

Hi Andrew! Thank you for sharing such a detailed description of your experience with the mark flag function.

There are a few possible reasons why rangefinder distances could be off:

1) Wrong units: Please check the "Units" setting in Golf Pad preferences to ensure that the correct units (yards or meters) are selected. If not, simply change the setting and you should be good to go.

2) Incorrect course layout data: To check this, start a round on your phone, select the course, and open the map view. Check if the green marker is accurately set to the middle of the green on each hole. If you notice any errors, they can be easily fixed within the app or by emailing us back and we'll take care of it for you.

3) GPS issues: If the steps above do not resolve the issue, it could be due to your phone's GPS not providing accurate location data. Please make sure your phone's location settings are configured for "High accuracy" or "GPS." If this does not help, you may need to contact your phone supplier to see if they can fix or replace the device.

Let me know if any of these solutions work for you or if you need further assistance.
