New User. Since you can't set the pin position until you are standing at the pin, how does Golf Pad know what the distance is to the current pin position, and therefore what club to recommend?

Club recommendations are based off of the distance to the center of the green. From there, it's up to you to determine whether you need to make changes—i.e. if you're trying to get to the front of the green, and you can see that there's a 10-yard difference from the front to the center, you might want to go one club down.
