How to assign a custom action like adding penalty or marking flag for TAGS?

Modified on Mon, 06 Mar 2023 at 07:04 PM

Add penalty, record sand or mark flag position directly with TAGS, without using the phone!

How to configure

It's possible to add a custom action for TAGS if you use only TAGS (without LINK reader).

How to configure

  • Open Golf Pad preferences in the upper right of the start screen.
  • Next, select Golf Pad LINK settings, Enable Golf Pad LINK / TAGS, select Scan TAGS with your phone.
  • Tap Scan tag to assign a club.

Finally, select one of several options shown below clubs.

How to use

Just scan a TAG with a phone during the round to perform the custom action you've chosen.

What does Penalty / flag (auto) do? This feature uses your location on the course to determine which action. If you are on the green, the flag will be marked, otherwise, a penalty will be added.

TAGS with LINK

It's possible to add a custom action to TAGS using LINK reader. The procedure is almost the same:

  • Open Golf Pad preferences in the upper right of the start screen.
  • Next, select Golf Pad LINK settings, Enable Golf Pad LINK / TAGS, select Use LINK reader.
  • Tap Scan tag to assign a club.

Select options shown below clubs. The LINK will make one long vibration as a confirmation. If the phone is connected, the action will be synced immediately, otherwise it will sync the next time the phone is in range. GPS location must be acquired by LINK. If it does not have the GPS location lock, the custom action will not work and LINK will make three short vibrations.

You can add a custom action for LINK reader, here is the instruction.
