Sometimes the device or app may not pinpoint your exact location on the course. Causes can include poor satellite reception, interference from tall trees or buildings, or outdated maps. Symptoms include distances showing incorrectly or pins being off the green.

Hi, Ray! There are a few possible reasons why rangefinder distances could be off:
1) Wrong units: Please check the "Units" setting in Golf Pad preferences to ensure that the correct units (yards or meters) are selected. If not, simply change the setting and you should be good to go.
2) Incorrect course layout data: To check this, start a round on your phone, select the course, and open the map view. Check if the green marker is accurately set to the middle of the green on each hole. If you notice any errors, they can be easily fixed within the app or by emailing us back and we'll take care of it for you.
3) GPS issues: If the steps above do not resolve the issue, it could be due to your phone's GPS not providing accurate location data. Please make sure your phone's location settings are configured for "High accuracy" or "GPS." If this does not help, you may need to contact your phone supplier to see if they can fix or replace the device.
Let me know if any of these solutions work for you or if you need further assistance.
