Apple Watch battery not lasting 18 holes

In the past week, my Apple Watch is dying before I finish 18 holes of golf.  This is new as I've been using GolfPad all season.  iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 18.5, Apple Watch 9, watchOS 11.5 and running GolfPad v 20.3.3.  I have Smartwatch Sync on, watch GPS location off with track shot distances and clubs.  I have also noticed that the sync between the watch and the iPhone is really delayed too.  I have to stop the Apple Watch app, restart it and then it syncs to the phone better.  Today, I have uninstalled the Apple Watch app and reinstalled it.  I will know more tomorrow in my round if the battery gets heavily used.  In my rounds, the iPhone stays in the cart or on my push cart, usually in decently close proximity to me and the watch.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues?  Thanks.

I was advised to delete the app and reinstall.  I carried out reinstall this morning before going out to play.  The watch is back to being much better than my golf!  47% left after a very slow 18 holes (5 hours - senior competition).

Can someone share what the update level is as I believe my app probably updates automatically and there is not an option to update the app however I can look at what the current update number is.

The previous update introduced a bug it seems.

My ultra2 usually only loses around 30% during a round, up until today it would be laggy, slow to respond and the app would nuke the battery, making it depleted in only 10 holes.

Tried today, and now it’s working as before again, with the new update.

Update for the battery issue came out overnight here,  I’ll know later today if it worked.  Crossing fingers!

Hi

same for me yesterday. Apple Watch charged full just before to play and battery 10% after 16 holes. And many disconnections between the watch and the iPhone.

Tonight, I started a 9 hole round with 74% battery on the watch.  I got the 10% alert on hole 9.  Something isn’t right.

Same here. I get a low battery alert on phone after 16 holes (around 2.5 hrs) on a watch I fully charged before leaving for the course. This just started about a week ago.

Same with me, just started Monday. Watch used to go more than 18 holes, the last 2 days died after 14 holes

I have exactly the same problem. It started as an issue last week.

Exact same problem that started on Saturday where my Apple Watch Ultra that usually only used 30% to do a whole round died on the 17th hole. Something has suddenly changed that is causing this.

7-16-2025..I have had the same exact problems you have. I sent in a ticket for help. I brought up the watch app on my Iphone 15 and scrolled down to the apps loaded on the watch. There I noticed that the Golf App had an install button active next to it which means there is an update usually. I updated and will find out tomorrow if it helped.
