Modified on Sat, 28 Sep at 8:06 PM

Some of the Golf Pad app features are designed for practice and game improvement. According to the USGA® official rules of golf rules, non-conforming features should not be used while playing in a tournament round or playing a round to produce an acceptable score for posting, to ones Handicap Index

Please see this article for more information about the use of GPS and Distance Measuring Devices (DMD's). Included are details on USGA rule 4.3a governing the use of GPS, Rangefinders and other DMD's.

When rules-compliant mode is enabled, the non-conforming features are disabled in Golf Pad, including:

- Elevation

- PLAYS LIKE distances

- Club Recommendations

- Real-time reporting of shot distances

You can track your game in rules-compliant mode. Then, review distances and related statistics after completing the round.

To enable or disable rules-compliant mode, tap "+ Start" on the main screen of the app, then select "Rules-compliant mode". You can enable and disable rules-compliant mode without having to uninstall/reinstall the app. If playing a conforming round, be sure to enable rules-compliant mode before the round starts.

Note: additional local rules may apply - be sure to check with the local official to verify Golf Pad can be used during your golf round.
